CERAMICS +
My ceramic practice includes wheel-thrown pottery and slip-cast ceramic multiples created from handmade plaster molds.
In high-fire stoneware (cone 10+), I often work within a limited palette, exploring the glaze chemistry of iron-rich yellows and ochres. By contrast, mid-fire clay (cone 5/6) allows me to work in a glaze palette that echos my painting practice, including vibrant fire-reds and dusty rose-pinks.
Slip-casting, much like printmaking, is a technique to work in multiples, creating limited edition, small-scale production runs. Each piece in my production process, whether silkscreen or ceramic, is carefully crafted and created by hand.
